A day of brightness
Based in the heart of Loughborough, the Peter Le Marchant Trust is a charity that provides canal boat trips on the beautiful waterways of Leicestershire.
The Trust has been offering day trips and holidays for over 45 years to children and adults living with physical disabilities, social issues and mental health conditions.
We recognise the therapeutic benefits of time spent on the water, and every day, we see the positive impact a ‘blue health’ trip makes to a passenger on one of our specially designed boats, as well as the volunteers.
More recently, thanks to new funding, we’ve been able to extend our service to anyone who would benefit from the positive effects of a day out on the water. With this support, we now offer a range of well-being and seasonal trips for individuals, groups and families.
We’re also hugely grateful to the National Lottery Community Fund, whose support gives young people an opportunity to enjoy time at our base, learning from our welcoming mentors and gaining valuable skills.
