Day Trips
Step aboard Symphony or Serenade for a day of calm, connection and community.
Our fully accessible day trips run seven days a week from March to the end of October, offering a peaceful journey along the beautiful Grand Union Canal and River Soar.
Whether you're booking for a care setting, community group or family day out, our boats provide a safe, welcoming and relaxing space for everyone on board including passengers with disabilities, life-limiting conditions or mental health challenges.
Each trip is led by our trained crew and volunteers who are always on hand to support your needs and make the experience enjoyable for all.

About the boats
Our two broad beam boats, Symphony and Serenade, are specially built to offer comfort and full accessibility.
-
Each boat can carry up to 26 passengers, or 6 wheelchair users and 14 seated passengers
-
Hydraulic lifts make boarding easy for wheelchair users
-
At 4 feet (1.2m) wider than standard narrowboats, they offer spacious interiors, wheelchair-accessible toilets and plenty of room to relax
-
Both boats have large viewing windows, sliding roof hatches for sunny days and friendly, fully trained crew
Trip experience
Day trips typically run from 10am to 3pm, departing from our base in Loughborough.
You can choose to travel either towards Normanton or Mountsorrel, with scenic views and a peaceful pace along the Grand Union Canal and River Soar.
We usually stop for lunch at one of the lovely pubs along the way or you’re welcome to bring your own picnic - our skipper will moor up at a quiet spot to enjoy it together.
