Fundraising
Every pound raised helps us create calm, connection and community on the water.
At the Peter Le Marchant Trust, we believe everyone deserves time to relax, recharge and reconnect with nature - no matter their age, ability or background. Our fundraising work ensures that thousands of children and adults living with disabilities, life-limiting illnesses and mental health challenges can access meaningful canal boat experiences.

Whether it’s a sponsored themed event, a quiz night or a creative craft sale at your local hall, fundraising in your own way is a brilliant way to support the Trust.
Some of our favourite past events have included:
-
Canal-themed quiz nights hosted by local groups
-
Garden open days and plant sales, organised by supporters with green thumbs
-
Birthday donations and school fundraisers, including ‘wear blue’ days and sponsored silences
-
Community choir concerts or performances, raising funds through donations on the day
-
Funeral or memorial collection buckets, or placing donation buckets in local venues or businesses
We’d love to hear your ideas and can provide a poster template, sponsor forms or support to get you started. To chat about your plans or request materials, please get in touch.
CORPORATE FUNDRAISING
Engage your team and give back through your workplace.
We welcome businesses of all sizes to get involved and support our work through tailored fundraising and volunteering opportunities. Whether you're looking to fundraise through a team challenge, organise a charity event or support us as your charity of the year - we’re ready to work with you.
We also offer corporate volunteering days at our base, where teams help us with essential tasks such as painting, gardening or even litter-picking by boat! Recent groups from PwC told us how rewarding and refreshing the experience was and we’re always keen to welcome new faces.
Here are just a few ideas to get started:
-
Office raffle or ‘Blue Health’ wellbeing week with daily activities
-
Sponsored walk/run with your team
-
Seasonal donation drives or round-up campaigns
-
Matched giving or payroll-giving schemes

Leave a legacy
MAKE A DIFFERENCE FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS.
After caring for your loved ones, leaving a gift to the Peter Le Marchant Trust in your Will is a generous and lasting way to support our work.
A legacy donation helps ensure we can continue to offer accessible, inclusive experiences for years to come. You might choose to leave a specific amount, a treasured item or a share of your estate. Every gift is deeply appreciated and helps secure the future of the Trust.
We recommend seeking guidance from a solicitor, and we’re always happy to talk if you’d like to know more.
