We're looking for our next CEO

Help lead the Peter Le Marchant Trust into its next chapter as we approach our 50th anniversary.
For almost five decades, the Peter Le Marchant Trust has been helping people living with disabilities and serious illness enjoy the freedom, enjoyment and wellbeing benefits of spending time on the waterways.
As we approach our 50th anniversary, we're looking ahead to the future of the Trust. With a refreshed fleet, a dedicated team of staff and volunteers, and opportunities to develop our work further, we're now seeking a part-time Chief Executive Officer to help guide us through this next chapter.

Following the departure of our previous CEO, Tim, the Trust has been led on an interim basis by Trent Anderson. Our trustees are now looking to appoint a permanent leader who shares our commitment to making the waterways accessible to more people.
About the role
This is a part-time leadership position of approximately 20-24 hours per week, offering the opportunity to oversee the day-to-day running of the Trust while helping shape its long-term direction.
The role involves:
Working one to two days per week at our Loughborough base, with availability by phone and email throughout the working week.
Leading and supporting our staff team, helping prioritise tasks and maintain smooth daily operations.
Overseeing the Trust's activities, including HR, operational management and the skipper team.
Acting as the Trust's designated person for Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) purposes.
Working closely with trustees on strategic planning, organisational development and financial oversight.
Attending occasional evening fundraising and outreach events.
Working hours may vary slightly around key commitments, including quarterly trustee meetings and year-end financial reviews.
Salary: Paid monthly, commensurate with experience and the size of the charity.
Who we're looking for
We're looking for an experienced leader who can balance the practical responsibilities of running a charity with a clear vision for its future.
The ideal candidate will have:
Recent leadership experience and a proven ability to manage, motivate and inspire teams.
A strategic mindset, with ideas for developing the Trust and extending its reach.
A genuine passion for our passengers, volunteers and the work we do.
It would also be beneficial to have:
A financial or commercial background, including experience working with accountants and bookkeepers.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience working with local charities or within the voluntary sector.
Above all, we're looking for someone who understands the value of the Trust's work and is enthusiastic about helping it continue to grow.
Help shape our next 50 years
The Peter Le Marchant Trust has grown through the dedication of its staff, volunteers, trustees and supporters. Our boats are purpose-built to accommodate people living with physical disabilities, particularly wheelchair users, as well as people living with mental health conditions.
Our next CEO will play an important role in supporting this work, strengthening our organisation and helping us reach more people in the years ahead.
